Tuesday, we eighth graders had to take this stupid ACT Explorer test thingy. We didn't do any work all day. It was pretty cool. But The dumbest thing was the end of the test. We had to do this potential job test thing, and it had the dumbest questions on it. Like, I now know exactly what I want to do with my life now: Build frikin' picture frames and watch for forest fires!!! That stuff is sooo on my Bucket List now!! Screw engineering, or science, or anything that requires an actual college degree!! (note the heavy sarcasm)
Also this week was Red Ribbon Week, and we had a "Best Decorated Door Contest", the prize was a brownie/ice cream party, and we got frikin' second place!! It was soo not fair!! Our whole class worked our butts off on the door, and the winning class's teacher did all the work on theirs! We had a stupid frikin' paper mache nose on ours!! Soo not fair!!
My wonderful Algebra 1 teacher assigned us about two hours of homework every night this week, except tonight. Well, that's not entirely true. I did have one problem left, but I didn't feel like lugging my algebra book home just for one problem, so he can just deal with it.
Then, we had to watch the world's most depressing movie. Well, maybe not the MOST depressing, but it's in the top ten, that's for sure. It was called "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas". To make a long story short, it was about this cute little german boy who lives near this Nazi concentration camp. He makes friends with this Jewish boy, and sneaks into the camp to see what it's like. His parents find out he is missing all but too late. He ends up dieing a painful, but quick death by poison in one of the Nazi's mass murders. It ends with a picture of his mother and sister crying over a discarded pile of his clothes they found by the camp's fence in the rain... It was really sad, I almost cried.
But on a lighter note, we did have some fun. Yesterday, my language teacher gave us homemade cupcakes with butter cream icing and this apple cider-punch-tea thing. The drink was good, but the cupcakes were amazing!! We did a group project where we had to write a song the day before, so we were performing them. It was pretty funny. Them we got to watch "The Tell-Tale Heart". It was full of bad acting, and even worse special (if you can call them that) effects. The weirdest part was when he killed the old man, it looked a lot like rape.... But maybe that's just the middle schooler in me talking....
Dad's making me get off now, so TTFN!!!
